Tieanna Burton-Sharp is a Detroit native, currently completing her M.A. in Liberal Studies and Women’s and Gender Studies Post-Baccalaureate Certificate at UNCW. She received her B.A. in English from Alabama State University. Her academic interests include Africana studies, dystopian literature, contemporary women writers, queer studies, slave narratives, and feminist memoirs. Her professional background is as a full-time graduate student, cat mom, and military spouse; however, her future interests range from non-profit advocacy, to publishing and editorial work, to teaching at the university level. Ultimately, she wants to start her own publishing house. Her hobbies include reading, writing, cooking, binge watching Netflix series, gardening, and home décor.
